The Lumix FZ30 = too much

Did you ever goo fishing and use a umbrella rig?

I like to throw out several hooks with the hope of reeling in as many fish as I can (in this case I am collecting information/opinions/various insights on my quest for "the right" camera.

If people have opinions I collect them. Many are very helpful some less and some are of no help to me ( possibly due to my own lackof insight )

The z7590 with histogram is sounding very tempting too.

And the Z7590 has the 2 and 10 second timer. I shoot alot of zoom on tripod stuff. That 2 second timer is heaven sent. I'll say the DX and Z7590 dont have the upscale appearance of the P850 or FZ30. Me I don't care about the upscale appearance.

Your doing the right thing Bill. I just didn't want you to think we don't care because we do... Or at least I do. and the brand isn't as important as being satisfied with the product and the results. Having said that If I had to buy a new one I'd be looking at the same ones you are and be in as much of a quandry as you are. We can give opinions and advice but it still will all come down to your decision! Having said all that I'm going to bow out of the discusion as I donot own either of those and cannot speak from personal experience!

just wanted to check in and say I did not intend to"ruffle any feathers"
It justseems respectful of the forum to keep the sametopics together (Ask Steve if he would agree).

It is quite understandable that you would ask a number of people for different opinions. Many people do that, including myself.

In your previous posts I have made detailed replies to answer questions about the camera and its features. Though it's just one P850 user opinion, there are more out there that can share too. But it seems those threads just died off and now here we are starting from scratch again.

*I will nowjoin dawg in the bow *

No feathers ruffled despite the cold weather here, wind chill factor 9 degrees F here.

I thin the quest for the holly grail is coming to a end! Amazon has a 10% off on electronics including DIGITAL CAMERAS!.

I think tonight after Martha Stewart Apprentice I will flip the coin, draw the straws and look for a sign in the sky.

The Transit Authority is talking strike. Lets pray that the telephones don't go dead!

Thanks to all for their input and patients!

My pesamistic side prevents me from making purchases too spontaniously. I shoped 3 to 4 months before choosing a digital video camera and 4 months deciding on a new pc system (plus procrastinated 10 months till I set it up!
