One improvement of P850 over DX7590 is it can maintain good sharpness even at full telephoto.

You can't judge sharpeness by looking at downsized pics. Downsized pics are only useful for evaluating how the camera handles colors and in this respect the above pics are fine.
To evaluate sharpness, purple fringing and noise use the freeware jpegcrop for lossless cropping and post cropped parts of a high resolution pic.

Personally, I like it better that the competing similar 12X optical, anit-shake, 5-6MP cameras out. Picture quality is pretty comparable to the S2 IS and the H1.

I found the battery life rather short, using Lithium-Ion 1700 mAh.

Anyone has experience taking picture under -11 to 0 temperature ?

Anyone using a higher mAH capacity ?

With my dx7590 battery life is considerably( like a third of normal)shorter under 10 degrees..I now keep the battery in my shirt pocket under a coat and carry a spare also...be careful of condensation when you bring the cam into a warm house

Thanks for sharing the photos, very clear shoots
For picture #3, do u enforce the full digital zoom as well?
Look very clear to me, even after you downsize.
I'm still considering to buy this P850 :-)

Hi dan279,

Anyways to prevent condensation when bringing the cam into a warm house ?

hi armadilloshield,

Thanks for your comments !

For photo# 3, using 12X optical plus 2X-3X digital zoom.

All the photos posted are handheld not using any tripod.
