This The Marine Park Saltmarsh Nature Center. Built by the ciy and sponsored by National Geographic. It was a big sore thumb wher trash was dumped along with abandoned cars etc. The is a nice building with a library, class room area and displays. There is a trail that makes a loop on one side of the marsh (about a mile long. There are various Egrets, Herons, Cormarants, Gulls, Ducks, Osprey and Hawks plus many other song birds and butterflies.

More than a tree grows in Brooklyn!

You always see the best things when your camera is at home! I was there when a big Blackback Gull (largest variety of seagulls) fought with a Cormarant that had just come up from a dive with a eel (about 1' flong) in its mouth. The gull flew off with the eel close to the waters surface (due to weight of eel) but because the cormarant was wet and does not repell water like a duck (they sit on a piling and hold their wings out like a german eagle to dry before flying) could only run along the surface of the water for a short stretch. The Black Back gull landed on the shore and enjoyed his eel in peace.

Not ducks or Canadian geese. I think they are Brandt, Thin white ring around neck rather than white cheeks asper canadian geese.
