I am still not sure if I should keep this camera or not. I am disappointed with low light focus and macro focus. The above shots are the best out of 99 taken and are all a mixed bag of exposure needing alot of PS. Any other owners of the P850 out there with similar results?

youre kidding right?

those are great shots!

are you the guy who did the "selling p850" post a few days back, where the thread got zapped?

not all cams are for everyone,
what one likes, another doesnt
selling a cam is never a statement that it is bad
it could just mean it just isnt for you

in this case, i would stick with that one,
again, incredible shots!

I dunno. I'm not a perfectionist and am quite happy with my old and outdated DX6490 so maybe I'm not the best to advise you on this Goofas. Some folks hold a camera's performance to a higher standard than I would. I've gone out shooting and while still learning the (compared to the P850) simple DX6490 I've shot that many and only gotten a few I'd keep! Maybe that you'll never be satisfied with it but if I got pics like those I'd be happy. Notice I said"I'd be happy". You might not. This hobby like all artistic endeavors is a subjective one. You must make that decision. If you're not happy now can you see a point where you might be. If not then sell it and try another one. Hope you make a happy decision!

They don't allow buying and selling on this forum! They will either ask you to withdraw it or zap it!! FYI

If it got "zapped" then it MAY be a good indication that the thread was not appropriate or suitable for this forum...maybe?

It really is shocking that you are dissapointed withthe results in the photos posted.
Perhaps your needs are much more advanced than anyone here.
Have youchecked out higher end digital SLR's?
Then again, you may not like them either.

I just might stick it out and see if Kodak has a firmware update soon. If not I will get another money pit DSLR. I really miss that fast auto focus from my old DRebel. I am really upset that out of 99 shots I got to keep 17 using the P850.

my p850 works great!! no complaints here

out of 99 shots, a majority turn out just fine, especially whenI am usingsettings appropriate to the environment

shots of buildings are usually best taken with Landscape mode, and multi pattern focus.

no firmware update needed here

did you get a defective unit?

Don't know. The macro performance is really bad. I only have myself to blame for poor low light focus...I should have never bought a camera without an assist lamp! I just decided to put it up on ebay and see what happens.
