Dawg I found this site for you. Your lighthouse is called the Cockspur Beacon.

I would have given anything to have had my DX6490 on that visit. I'll probably never get back there again!

Dawg-

That is a very impressive lighthouse. Thanks for sharing the photo with us. Which camera did you use to take the photo? Somehow my gut feeling is that it might have been a Kodak DX-7440.

Hey Dawg-

Found your beacon this morning but there was 02 visibility and just really heavy fog inland. Going to try tomorrow.

It sure is little, LOL.

MT I used a little fixed lens cheapo Pentx camera on that one. 35mm film then scanned into the computer to post it! I can get good photos with nearly any camera but as on the Cockspur lighthouse I can't overcome the camera's limitations. I simply needed more zoom! Tracy if it gets to be too much trouble then your efforts have been enough. I appreciate all you've done so far. It is a small one but is one of the most pictuesque ones I've run across! Thanks very much!

Sandy, Tybee Island is right at the mouth of the Savannah river and is heavily visited. If you plan on going on a weekend be sure you have a reservation or you won't find a place to stay! While there visit the garden squares in Savannah. It'll take you several days to see them all and get photos! One of the souths most beautiful cities!

LOL, are you kidding Dawg??? Too much trouble? I live about 8 miles from the lighthouse.

I was probably just as disapointed as you today. That fog was so heavy that I drove past it and didn't see it until I was coming home. There was still fog on the highway, and quite honestly the beach road is FAMOUS for accidents. I was afraid someone would hit me, LOL. I have to park the car on the side of the road and walk up the bridge.

But not to worry- I am determined to get that shot for myself as well now!

Tracy go here. They say there is a road you can take to get closer to the lighthouse. I didn't know about it on my trip!
