I harvested this turkey in the spring of 05, whats kind of unusual about it is that it had 2 beards (not really uncommon but unusual). One beard I think was 11" and the other 6" this can be seen if you look closely at the beard. For those of you who dont know, when tom turkey are in full strut during the mating season (spring) their head and neck fill with blood causing the red colors to show through. This tom had fairly large spurs also1" and 3/4 on the other side. Very good eating, none of the processed trash in these birds that make you fall asleep.

Stuffed, as in stuffing (dressing)or a full body mount?

Nice pics, great colors, unique subject. How'd you manage to eat this guy without ruffling his feathers?

Immediately at harvest a trip to the taxidermist where he was skinned, and the carcuss taken home to freeze. The head is shippedoff to a place where it is freeze dried and then upon mounting it is detail painted.
