I never paid much attention to the rules so I'm not the one to ask as far as rules go. I like what I see! Hope that's a good answer!

It'ds a good answer...but not the one Im looking for. I'll accept it though. Im looking to hear if I am doing right with practicing with the rule of thirds. I figure I can learn it then use it and sway from it if need be, but always keeping it in mind. In other words, I have to know the rule before I can break it.

Looks pretty good. If you are going to follow the rule I mean... I don't think it's always necessary. The first one, the church steeple should be taken a little more to the right. In the 2nd one, I would zoom out a little more and show some more sky if you can to move the steeple down a little bit, but left to right it's great.
Or, maybe, for the 2nd one, I would crop the picture just to the right of the steeple, leaving you with a picture that's more vertical than horizontal, without all those cars which distract from the main focus (like the one attached).
My two cents.

Silver-

Yes, the photo does demonstrate the rule thirds. However, I think it would be a stronger photo like this. What do you think?

Silver-

It looks like Will and I were thinking along the same lines.
