TY for your comments all.

MT- I am more of an outdoors person. But as someone who is serious about their art, I try very hard to grow and expand.

That said, tabletops just ain't my thing, LOL. I do occasionaly try to work indoorsunder (sigh) forced conditions, like when there is a tornado watch :roll:

Silver- I actually took these spur of the moment. Sean's little shoes were laying there, and the sun started slanting through the window- and there it was. Too good an opportunity to pass by, and my still life portfolio is a little "light".

Thanks for asking.

Tracy-

I understand your preferences. I am the same way, but in the Northwest rain often keeps me inside for weeks at a time. I would much rather be outdoors.

Love those Tracy! No. 2 apeals to me a little more than No.1. I think by taking the shot at that angle instead of from in front you have included the viewer in the photo! In other words it feels more like I'm seeing this in person instead of looking at a photo!

Tracy-

I actually think a closely cropped color version just might be even more powerful.

MT;

I would prefer a tighter crop as well. The photo op was purely spontaneous, but I thought it fit well for the monthly contest theme my photo group does. It is on the rule of thirds, and dynamic comp., not static. I was afraid I would lose that if I cropped any tighter on the side.

Were you refering to the right side being cropped more?

If so- if I had not planned to use it for the theme I would have done that.
