Nice shot. Looks like the wind was behind him a little there, Silver!
Your absolutely right dawg, the wind is out of the N/W....and Brrrrrrr, it is cold. I was freehanding the shots, and as I would let a breath out my EVF would fog up on me.

Why, thank you JIm! Yep this one has been hanging around, and seems to be liking me take his picture. I was very, very close and he didnt even flinch. I first seen him out the kitchen window scavengering on the grass beneath the feeder. I thought about a window shot, but wanted something more than that, so I went outside in the cold. He flew up into the closest tree, and right in the sunlit branch (yes!).:G

I think it is more than luck if your are working with the bird. It takes allot of time and patience to get them to accept your presence. I know, my few after weeks of hanging around them seem not to mind to much if I am around unless I make a stupid mistake then they are gone until the next day. This one may even be subject to being hand fed if worked with properly.

Nice shot Silver,I have heard that cardinals think they are pretty birds and are attracted to mirrors. Some people around here put window feeders up with mirrors in them. Then again maybe the mirror thing applys to most birds, since you put one in a paraket cage

Thanks everyone! Mr Blue I have never worked with animals, no... waitI once worked in retail in California and therewere some animals ther that worked with me, but not the four legged type....Dawg, I hope it is more than luck, I have really been trying hard to learn to take good shots...Jim Thank you very much, I dont know if I will ever hand feed it..although a friend at work has a window feeder trayand lays his hand in the tray until the finches eventually feed out of his hand...Facia...it is right out of the camera cropped in PS...Mt, thanks alot...it is definately in my record book!

Smiles, I hadnt heard that about the mirros, all I heard was that they get so territorial that they will attack mirrors on cars and trucks thinking that it is another male. Nuf said...thanks!
