Well my goodness- leave the house for one day doing (sigh) RESPONSIBLE stuff and look what I missed, LOL.

I am woman enough to admit I am wrong.

MT- Other than mine and yours, I have never seen a pink magnolia.

Found a good southern website today, and it is a Magnolia, apparently.

I was wrong, and stand corrected. They are "Japanese Magnolias"

Thank you everyone for offering up your thoughts on the matter.

And certainly Silver- I would trust your judgement with what you used to do for a living.

Sorry for the confusion I caused-

Tracy-

It is no big deal at all! Like I said (one woman to another) they are BOTH pretty, so we took a photo. That was all there was to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Enjoy the photos, and we will discuss the exact genus later. OK?

After all, this is a Kodak Photo Forum, not a Biology Class, even though we do appreciate Silver's 17 years of experience in the arboretum.

Silver- here is the link. You have to scroll way down but you can't miss it- just look for the color.
