Yep, I bought the same stuff here at lowes and then again at the farm supply, it ranges anywhere from $.99 to $1.49 a block. I wonder why they like the suet. The package says beef fat or something like that. Or is that just there to hold the seed together?

It holds it together as well as being a nutrient! They like the greasey taste and consistancy for some reason!

Thanks for your comments Mr.Blue,Dan.& Silver

Thanks for posting where you bought the feed Dawg,I'm going to have to see if I can find some, next time I'm in Lowes.I've been trying to trick the woody's ,they always want to get on the back side of the feeder where I can't get any shots of them ,so I smeared some peanut butter on the other side closest to the window !!Worked pretty good !!.I think he was thanking me for it when he looked right at me

Sandy, that is the same trick that they pull here with my feeder. They hide on the other side.

Most suet cakes come packaged in a plastic tub. Leave the tub in place but remove the top cover. Tjhen place the plastic side against a tree trunk and fasten it so it won't revolve. This way they have no choice but to eat from the side you are on. After a few tastes they wil be back over and over.
