I have seen this little guy from a distance and thought he was a white squirrel. Today he was still out of range, but I bumped up the digital zoom and at least got a couple you can see. The quality is terrible- but I wanted you to see his color. Does anyone know why he might look this way?

Thanks-

Tracy

Looks almost like an albino fox squirrel to me. May just be the color he was born with. Albinos don't live too long in the wild but one could have sired this one passing the light color gene down!

Tracy Albinism can happen with all species! The redish color is what made me think of a Fox squirrel! The white made me think of an albino!

Looks like a Red Squirrel which is smaller than the Greys. According to the search I just did you wouldn't expect to see those in Georgia but you know us Yankees. :-)
