When I look into the setup manu of P850, I find that there is an option called 'Accessory lens'(on/off).
And the instruction in the user's guide is too short for me to understand the real purpose of this option.

I'm just wondering if it is related to focusing or saving correct exif info.

So, could anyone advise when I add UV, CPL , or Tcon, Wcon to my camera, which option should be selected(on or off). And also the benefit?

Thanks!

Lym

good question!

I have the t-con and have tried shots with the setting ON and OFF.
It didnt seem to make any difference. It appears it may have something to do with the AF or AE reading through the lens, but in my experiences everything worked fine without it changed. I recall a similar thread about it but it was a long time ago.Hopefully the true t-con pros will confirm here.

Can only speak for the dx7590...I use acc lens ONfor the Tcon, seems to help..I've also found that landscape mode doesn't work well with the tcon, seems to throw off the autofocus. As for uv, polarizers, other filters, I turn acc lens OFF

Thanks a lot for your share!

I assumed that the TTL focus can automatically deal with the t-con & w-con well before.
And I haven't got my w-con yet. Or I would also do a comparison.

Is it related to the 'hybrid AF external passive sensor'?

Since some of my friends & I found that
once the lens is covered (add tube & new lid), the camera still can get a correct focus.(with green signal on lcd, and get a clear shot after locking AF & taking lid off).
But the camera fails to play that again after setting 'acc lens' ON.

Still need more input..... Thanks again!
