New camera arrived plus Kodak aux. wide. Had it delivered to girl friends house.

I better be nice to her till I pick up the stuff! This is the camera taking the place of my Dx7440.

Kodak wanted $105.00 to fix it without even seeing it plus $35.00 frt plus sales tax (8.25% here)

A place in NJ also quoted a flat rate without seeing it of $ 195.00 plus $10.00 frt..

2 rip-offs as far as I can see. and is Kodak delivering via 72 virgins?

Still looking for a non ransom rate for camera repair !

Bill, that is great. I am looking forward to see the shots this camera brings us, with and without the W-lens.

A person on Kodak talk forum said his Z730 and many others have crooked view finders that results in horizontal lines not being straight/level. Could such a thing be true :?:?

with those rates why even bother getting it repaired?

you can get a DX7440 refurb with full one year warranty on ebay for $169.00 + s/h
no tax

whats the model of the new one and how much did it cost?
