I tried calling Kodak at their 800 #

They are on call on Saturdays

Tried to get method 2 to kick in with their technical expertise but no luck

They said to mail in the camera and the Kodak people would do it. I said that solution was unacceptible. I would have to take a day off or kill a Saturday morning to go to the post office and it is a new camera not a week old.

I requested to speak to a senior technician (one in North America) and they refused my request.

If I did not have a 2nd Kodak camera I would have returned this onw and said good bye to Kodak and hello to Nikon or Panasonic.

If I had to find a good word to say about Kodak it would have to be a lie :!:

Hi Bill,

Sorry to see your dilemma. I will try to help further.

Since I do not have the details of your call or issue, please fill me in things. Once I understand more about your need, I can offer some suggestions or help. Your information notes that you have a broken DX7440 and DX7590 and that you are after a Z730. Is that correct? Is there more to the issue.

Have been offline for a bit doing some projects but am back to help as best I can.

Talk to you soon, Bill

Hi Ron

Dx 7440 is the one you advised me to send you samples. Solution was a choice between $110.+frt+nyc sales tax or a swap for arefurb (forgot model) with 3x zoom and 6MPplus $190.00+frt+nyc sales tax. Neither are too great a deal in my book!

My solution was buy a new Z740 for under $190 no frt or tax at Amazon.

There was a posting on this forumof a Kodak up date to Z740 from Kodak. I was unable to get it installed via method 2. Was on the phone with Kodak/Phillippines tech support for some time with no sucess. Tech support recomended I mail camera to Kodak to have it done. Not my idea of a solution or of a too good impression of Kodak Tech Support.
