I have a Kodak P850 with a 12X zoom. I am considering purchasing the add on lens - a 1.4 X teleconverter and a .7X wide angle converter but wonder will the addition be worth it?

I'm new to photography and wonder if adding only 1.4X to a 12X will really make enough difference to tell.

Thanks for any help!:?

Yes it is worth the purchase price. The teleconvertor , to me anyway, has more uses. The wide angle is good when you are in a museum or a house and just can't back up enough to get the shot. The teleconvertor works really well for wildlife and outdoor shots where you just can't get close enough or You want to zoom in to crop something out of a photo. They both have their place but are not a necessity. They are tools that can aid you but they of themselves will not make you a great photographer. If you would like then tomorrow I'll shoot some with my camera to give you an Idea of the difference between my 10x zoom and the addition of a wide angle lens and a teleconvertor!

If you buy the KODAK T-CON or the Olympus T-CON your going to love em. Not to mention how you'll like having the KODAK W-CON.

That would be great Dawg. Thank you for going to the trouble. If you would like to see some of my photos I am at http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/g...asp?mem=166932~ I would appreciate any feedback. I am trying to determine how much closer the teleconverter will get meon the wildlife shots.

Thank you!!!

SW2CAM - are those lens that will work with my P850? As I mentioned, I am new at this and was only aware of the teleconverter lens that is on the Kodak website that was compatible.

Thanks!

Following are the photos I promised you. The first ones are at the widest angle. I'll start with the normal lens on my DX6490. You have to remember that I only have a 10X lens so some of them are not going to reach as far as your camera with the 12X lens. I am using the Schneider wide angle lens for the wide angle shots and the Olympus TCON 17 for the zoom shots. As I said I'll start with the normal lens then the Schneider wide angle 0.7 lens and then the Olympus TCON-17 next.

These are at full optical zoom. Again I'll post the normal lens then the Schneider lens then the Oly TCON-17 Tele lens.
