This is a rather odd combination but as the lens isquality Sony and it was only GB£30 on ebay it was worth a shot.

52mm screw threads. This is a BIG piece of glass. 2 elements 2 groups.

It weights 300gr so ideally your 44-52mm extension for the DX 6490 (or whatever other camera you might put it on) should be metal (instead of plastic) as there is a lot of weight hanging on the end of the extension and you don't want to rip the threads out and have it crash down on your foot.

Set the lens to wide angle (38mm) andMACRO - fire and forget.

Unless you have the zoom back38mm full wide and set on MACRO you will not get the 'green' light that you have focus when you half-press the shutter release. Zoom is not possible

Landscapes easilymastered with this lens.

I'm looking for distortions of all kinds - but I'm not finding them.

There are probably some distortions there but they may not be so drastic as to show up to the observer. I have always liked the colors from a wide lens shot. I don't know why but they always seem more vibrant and sureal! Looks like a nice lens there!
