Hey dawg, that's one of the raynox's I've been looking at. It certainly seems to be an impressive piece, however a couple things must be stated:

1) The 2020's rear thread is 62mm. Period. When it says "52mm, 58mm, and 62mm" it means to say that it's 62mm but comes with step-down rings to 58 and 52. So, you could use 2 step-downs (62-58, 58-55) but that's a bit pointless when you can just use a single 62-55.

2) Be aware, the thing is kinda big. It's 4.8" long and about 3.5" wide (3.3" lens), and it's 9.7 oz. That means it's physically, just about as big as your camera (P850) and will add another 66% to the weight of the camera when you use it. Here's a pic of a nikon coolpix 5700 with the DCR-2020 attached:

http://raynox.co.jp/comparison/image...cr2020pro7.jpg

for comparison the nikon is close to the same size as the P850 but deeper by 1.2"

I'm seriously considering this lens for my P880 but the size is a major thing to think about. I might've recommended the DCR-1850 (1.85x tele) but I saw on the raynox website that it is not designed for cameras above 6x zoom capabilities. Still may be an option for me (only 5.8x) but not for the P850. The DCR-1800 looks like it may work, but does not mention the resolution like it does for the 1850 (200-line/mm).

I've heard and seen results from the P850 using the olympus tcon17, and you have to consider that it gives you a total of 20.4x at full zoom, plus your digital zoom (if you REALLY need it, digi zoom at low numbers isn't bad, it's gotten alot better than it used to be!). Your camera has a different lens than mine, the 880 has bad results with the tcon17

I'd say: Go with the olympus based on its track record and price (you can get them close to $100 if you look hard), if you REALLY REALLY need the extra zoom (26.4x!!), have the extra money, and want to try something new (haven't heard of anyone trying the raynox's w/ kodaks!) then go for the DCR-2020 or DCR-1800. 3rd would be the schneider 1.4x, it's not as much zoom but it's given GREAT results with clarity!!

For the wide-angle, I'd definately have to agree with dawg and say go w/ the schneider.

BTW there have been many instances where I've wished I bought an P850 instead of an P880, I love using zoom and the more the better IMO! What swayed me most was the manual focus option (allows for some flexibility and creativity), and the fact that at the time the P850's were about $350 the lowest I could find, and I got my P880 for $400 plus $40 shipping. And I like the fact that it looks like an SLR but it's not, and about half the price!

I gotta say though, I still miss my DX6490! That camera was so easy to use and took such great pics (at only 4mp!), it made photography fun and really got me started in all this!

Hi all... I just read all your posts and I'm finally convinced that my best plan is to hold onto my P850 for at least another year, but invest in the TCON and wide angle lenses to fill out my setup. I was planning on biting the bullet and buying a DL70, but with building a new house, some unanticipated medical expenses, and three kids in college, there's no bullet to bite! So I'll be online with BH tomorrow ordering lenses. Do they also carry the Kodak flash unit?
