I have read a bit recently about a lens adapter for the Kodak P850, but I'm really not sure what the purpose of them is. What can you do with a lens adapter, and how does it fit onto the camera? Is it something that needs to be put on every time you turn on the camera?

Also, somebody recommended I buy a neutral lens for it to keep dust off the main one... is this a good idea and where can I buy these accessories?

This lens adapter allows you to add filters and lenses to your camera. It screws on. The filters or lens screws onto that. I would buy a skylite or UVHAZE filter and leave it on. Picture and links added. Note the lens adapter, UV HAZE filter and the OLY TCON lens.

Thanks for the help, but I was wondering, after buying that adapter, where can I get a UV Haze filter? I don't believe there was one listed in the links you gave me (I could be wrong though). Will it affect my pictures at all or is it mainly to keep the lens clean? And I really like the looks of that 1.4x zoom lens... even 12 times zoom seems too little for me, haha. Maybe after my next paycheck.

You can get 55mm filters at RITZ/WOLF camera and seem to work very well.B+W, HOYA, TIFFANfromB&H Photo. Stay away from the junk on e-bay. I'm sure others can point you in other directions as they read your post.

Will any 55mm lens adapter work on my camera or do I need the official Kodak one?

Please please get the Kodak adapter! Some folks have reported off brands that have bad threads or do not give you 55mm threads! It's worth the little bit extra to get the Kodak! Trust me on this one!!! For a UV-Haze filter in 55mm go here. While there read the features menue and it will explain the UV-Haze filter.

You might want to visit the Kodak website and read everything pertaining to the P850... it 'splains a lot.
