Hey all, I recently installed the fireware upgrade on my Kodak P850 and I like it for the most part, but I do have one problem.

Before when I turned on my camera, it defaulted to whatever file format setting I had been using before (the best quality JPEG).

However, now that I have the upgrade, it defaults to the medium quality JPEG, and since I often don't notice this, I end up shooting many of my pictures in medium quality, and I'd rather not be. Does anyone know how to change the defaults here so that it is a high quality JPEG right when I turn the camera on?

Actually, there's not a whole lot of differience. BUT, to answer your question.

1) No you cannot change the default image quality in AUTO mode, it will default to normal each time you turn the camera on.

2) Use P move vs A and then you can set the JPG mode to FINE and it will save it and default to that setting every time.

3.) Try RAW for the best results from the camera

4) keep you ISO setting below 100. I like 64 best.

Hope this helps a bit

Thank you for the tips, I'm trying to move into shooting in the custom modes more often, but I'm still a beginner so I can't quite do that all the time yet.

I will just have to try and remember when I shoot in Auto mode I guess.
