The TCON-17 will work as good as the Kodak TCON, it's just that you'd have to zoom further out to avoid the vignetting! Since that is the purpose of a teleconverter I can't see where it would make that much difference between the two! You will get more Zoom from the Olympus TCON and only have to zoom out a little further to avoid the vignetting! Plus the fact that it costs less! Just an old mans opinion!

Yeah the tcon17 works with the p850 but not with the p880 !!

If you put the tcon17 on the p880, even at max optical zoom, you will see some vignetting...

So if I went with the Kodak TCON 1.4, what would I need as far as a UV lens? I always use a UV lens when shooting outdoors. Is it possible to put my UV lens on the adapter then screw the TCON onto it, or do I also need to buy another UV lens? I also use a polarizer lens.

If the TCON-17 is going to cause vignetting then stacking a UV filter and possibly a polorizing filter with the Kodak TCON would probably do the same! All I can say is with my DX6490 I can stack a Skylight filter and a polorizer filter and not get vignetting at the higher zooms. It will show vignetting sooner with the filters than without! I wish I could help more but since I've not had the chance to use a P880, anything I could tell you would be anecdotal.
