Wonderful detail there Boily! I like 'em..I like 'em!! LOL Have you tried the digital zoom on those? If so how did they do? I know..I know... Don't use the digi-zoom...But sometimes it will surprise you and that camera has a lot more than my DX6490!

Those were not taken with the digital zoom but I tried to take one with the digi-zoom and the moon wasn't sharp enough...


For the pictures I posted, I did a little crop in Photo Filtre

Very nice shots Boily! I have had very little luck with moon shots myself (probably my crummy mini-tripods fault).

And about your digi-zoom thing, I have to think that it wouldn't work will for moon shots, where every bit of detail is important. However, I agree with Bigdawg that it does come in handy. Sometimes the increased zoom is vastly more important than the quality difference. I use it all the time on my P850 and have had good luck with it. (Never use full digi-zoom though, 2x about does it, more than that and your picture is almost ruined).
