Jeez... I didn't know Colorado had such huge dunes. Great job putting a size perspective in the pics.

Wow ! Great shots brings back memories of me walking up those dunes when I was in geology field camp over 20 years ago....not sure if i would want to do it now.

Thanks for all the comments.* It really was a great place to visit...simply amazing to see.* We went a little out of the way to see it, and I would highly recommend it to everyone!!

Have to ask - did you ride any of the neat railroads out there? When I was at the Sand Dunes with the family back in the mid 70s my son (about 10 then) would have been one of those people specks way out there - actually made me quite nervous until he got back into clear sight. Great place - it just suddenly comes into view - never expect to see such a sight there.

great pics didnt know sand dunes like that existed in the states ! ?
