No, I used the autofocus with the p850 at full optical zoom and the marco mode on because I was close !!

Well, then why would you use full optical zoom? If you were close, what's the need for it? Isn't the full optical zoom 12x?

Heh, it looks lke the macro mode on the P850 isn't that bad after all....

I used the full optical zoom to be very close to the bird!!

I was at about 6 feet from them and with the full optical zoom it is like I was less than 1 foot from the birds:-)

And I used the macro mode to get to focus right!!

Hmm.... Well, wouldn't the full optical zoom go further than 6 feet? How far does 12x actually go? O.o
