Cool mountain pass, I was told something interesting about this... The appalachians used to be as tall as the rockies, but over time they're worn down a great deal (and the rockies are still growing!), and that what used to be a valley (pictured here) is now almost the top of a mountain!

And another reflection shot at the end of the trip. I'll explain the 2x4's in a second...

This is why!

We went BIG at Allgood!! a 30'x40' tarp, enough to have 10 tents underneath, and plenty of room for anyone else to come and chill out, get out of the rain or sun... we were a big hit this time, and during the setup 2 of my friends were interviewed for the Allgood DVD. We were right on the corner of 2 main roads, so we were a landmark for people to find their campsite. Literally, hundreds of people came by and hung out with us

That boulder from earlier, on the last day I finally went there to take pics...

Oh yeah, one really REALLY cool thing that happened:
I had to buy a tent at the LAST MINUTE because one I ordered didn't come in time. I go to walmart, found a clearance $30 swiss-gear single-person, perfect. It comes with a single pole, which doubles as a hiking stick (sweet!). I set it up, and after reading the instructions, I find that the end of the pole screws off and suprise! It's a monopod for my camera! Made for alot of cool shots like this one that normally would not have been possible, and one of my friends had injured his ankle so he got to use it as a cane. In this pic, I'm leaned over the edge of the boulder as far as I dare w/ the camera on the extended monopod. Really cool patterns!

For anyone here who likes to go on hikes, I'd definately recommend something like this! Some situations, a tripod is just too much!
