Wow. Seems like auto mode does quite the job. Great job. I was starting to think a camera with all sorts of manual control might be too hard for me...(Like the P712)

But, it seems like auto mode does the job. I could totally use it till I get used to the PASM modes.

Hi BigDwag-

I was just passing through and wanted to offer my compliments on the great photos that you have posted in this thread. Currently, I am doing a flash seminar thread over in the Pentax SLR folder. I just decided to do a little visit over in the Kodak Forum as I was shuting down tonight.

EN121 Auto mode or even better P (Program Mode) will let you do about 90 percent of what you need! DX6490 or P712...it doesn't matter! Composition and knowing where the light source is has a lot to do with how good the photo turns out! I envy you getting the P712 as it seems to be a great camera!

Haha yes. It does look like a great camera. I'm waiting for some more reviews. And some more sample pics. (And Christmas...<____________< )

I really like the Panoram mode. I think it'll be awesome for some really creative pictures. And the super fast AF is appealing. Along with the 7mp's.. I'm really hoping it has a decent price drop. If its 400$, I'll probally have to pay for some of it.... <_______<

I expect to see one of the new ones be an upgrade on the P880! I love the manmual focus on that one! Maybe a new model with a 15X max Zoom also!
