These are from playing with digi-zoom at close range. The Exif says these are 2.6X.They looked a bit different.

From what i've seen with the modern digi zoom in the p850 and p880, the distortion is only really visible in the non-focused areas (the algae in the 2nd pic for example), the goose (swan?) is very clear, no noticeable distortion... you can see each feather very clearly!

#2 looks goosey because it's dark but it's a young swan.

Imostly dislike digi-zoom for distance shots. From what I've read cropping gives better resolution than using digi-zoom. The explanation I've seen is that digi-zoom uses just the center part of the sensor.

The resolution is good in these pics because I was close. The pics were not much cropped. I kinda like the effect so I want to experiment a bit with this.
