Today I bought a P850 and here are some test shots....
Pictures are "Belgrade Beer fest" from big distance.
Try to find zoomed pictures on the first one. :G

Wow. That's amazing zoom... O.o you were that far away? And you zoomed in that close? O.o Wow. 12x is a lot. XD Congrats on getting the P850! :)

I was quite impressed when I bought my P850 as well... and to this day, it continues to make me happy. The only things missing are a remote trigger and a Bulb setting, but besides those two minor things it's fantastic! Great choice!

The 12x zoom is nice, although for Nature photographers like myself, it's still not enough. I hope to buy a teleconverter to pump it up to about 20x soon, haha.

Not enough? What kind of nature photography are you doing? O.o Hope you get that TCON pretty soon! :D

I shoot lots of flowers, but I also shoot wildlife. And often it doesn't let me get that close, or I want a close up of it's head, not the whole animal. The extra zoom will be very handy in cases like this! Mostly, I just want good animal shots without needing to sneak up to them until I'm 3 feet away, haha.

Hmm... Interesting. I can sit on our porch with our old Nikon N50 SLR and zoom in on them(Gold finches eating seeds off flowers). (70mm - 300mm) And get them. The P712 has even more zoom then that... I would assume you could be like 10ft away with 12x and get a close up of its head with a tripod. But yes, I love doing bird photography now.

I'll definately be getting a TCON17 with my new P712! :D
