I've never used an MMC card in my 6490 so I can't comment there but the SD card has worked well for nearly two years now and over ten thousand photos!

I've never used an MMC card before, either,, SD workd just fine....I tried to check price differences on 4 different web vendors and I couldn't compare them because none of them even carry MMC cards anymore, tells me something

I dont think they ever made a laarge MMC ... I think the biggest made was like 64 or 128 mb... maybe that's why they were discontinued

Infact i m using 512 MB MMC Card in Kodak 6490, and it is working fine.

i heard that MMC Card is data speed is not fast than SD card, so that why i m aksing, and if SD is better than why kodak support both the media ???

SD is an upgrade of MMC. I am quite certain that all SD compatible devices are compatible with MMC, simply because they are very similar formats. However some devices only accept MMC (very old devices)... SD is faster and generally larger... the industry didn't ditch MMC for no reason

I know I have an old Nokia 3300 laying around that only took MMC, I thought SD/MMC were the same until I got that and the biggest I could find was a 128mb
