I have heard that the wide-angle converters don't work with the P850, is there any truth to this?

I've read that of the P880 which comes with 24mm.

Forget about "tangible" things... Not too early to start investing.... you can be a multi-millionaire by the time you're 35.

Depending on where you go and what kind of situations you take pics in, I might suggest a monopod. Lots of them double as hiking sticks, and are pretty handy when you need extra stability, and where a tripod might be too cumbersome.

Aside from that, wcon and tcon are definately worthwhile items!

Oh, and happy birthday!

Happy birthday! You will probably have no vignetting with the 58 mm lens. Don't worry. Be happy!

Heppy Birthday, get a TCON from BHPHOTOVIDEO.COM or a RAYNOX 0.66x wide angle lens, and a step down ring from 58mm to 55mm.

This just seems like vignetting waiting to happen to me... Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I am better off getting the 58mm stuff than buying a stepdown ring

I'd get a wide-angle.

Happy birthday!
