Okay guys, I have a birthday coming up, well actually my birthday is today, but my little gift exchange is friday and my parents want to know what to get me... I really would like something for my camera, but I am running out of ideas... I'm almost tempted just to tell them to get me a gift card to Ritz. This is what I have... Kodak P850, Camera/Gadget Bag, External Flash, Slave Flash, Tripod, 58mm lens adapter, some Filters (+1, +2, +4, +10, CPL, Diffusion, ND2, FDL, UV), 1.5 gigs of SD memory, 3 Klic-5001 batteries, and Photoshop CS2. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to ask for/add to my "toolbox"?

A Hasselblad.

If that's not available then how about a tele lens?

You should get a tele-lens (tcon 17 from olympus) or a wide-angle

Yeah. Defenately a Tele converter! But, you're going to need the 55mm lens adapter.

Because the TCON17 from olympus is 55mm.

Cheers.

Sony and Canon both make 58mm telephoto converters...

I have heard that the wide-angle converters don't work with the P850, is there any truth to this?

Its totally false, kodak sells a 0.7x wide-angle for the p850, you can also buy the wcon07 from olympus but both wide-angle screw on 55mm adapter !!

You can also look at the raynox wide-angle and fisheyes

so... will any 58mm wcon work with my p850 and lens adapter without vignetting? or are there just a select few that happen to work? AndI heard thatthe larger diameter of lenses help to avoid vignetting... is this true?

All 58 mm wide-angle lense will work on your adapter but some will cause vignetting...

You have to look at theconversion factor of the lens when you buy a wide-angle !!

I think under 0.6x you will probably have some dark corners in your pictures...

And for the thing of the large diameter, its true if you have for example a 58 mm adapter and you buy a 68mm wide-angle (But the lens will not work at his full potential, its like zooming in..)

Okay... I was under the impression that a 55mm lens & adapter would be more likely to cause vignetting than a 58mm lens & adapter
