The stiffness of the round control selection wheel on the 6490 has always worried me a bit but that isn't what broke. The toggle switch in the centre of the wheel has ceased to function - no up down or sideways, only press in.

I think I recall reading somewhere someone used a tiny spray of silicon lubeto loosen up the action.

Has anyone had this problem (in or out of warranty!)? And how did they solve it.

Thanks

Max

Can you wobble it after pressing it in?

I had a problem with the outer wheel being too stiff and used some Teflon Lube I bought at Radio Shack to loosen it up. I really don't think that this is problem you're having with the Joystick control! Never had that happen but it may only be dirty contacts on each side. How you fix that is just something I don't know!

That was is Bigdawg - the TEFLON lube from Radioshack!!

Joystick moves in all directions, in and out. Seems there is no electrical contact.

So it's back to Kodak repair shop for this one, I'm afraid.

Thanks guys.
