If you missed my earlier posts from Friday, Konica-Minolta Japan posted a firmware upgrade for the Konica Revio KD-510z.

Konica-Minolta Europe has now posted the v.3.38 upgrade for both the KD-510z and G500 models. It hasn't shown up on the U.S. site yet.

Go to this link to download it. Make sure to download the one for your model, due to naming differences (even though the KD-510z and G500 are the same camera, otherwise):

Be extra careful with the upgrade, guys. Any interruption of a firmware upgrade in progress can ruin a camera. I'd also advise removing any Memory Sticks from the camera, as the upgrade will only work from Secure Digital media.

BTW, in addition to the last fixed focus choice being retained after turning off the camera (the camera used to go back to autofocus upon powerup), the EXIF now reports the correct ISO used in Auto ISO with flash off (not mentioned in the upgrade description).

Memory Stick Pro is also now supported, according to the description (although I personally do not have a way to verify this works).

BTW, one of the undocumented features of the firmware upgrade appears to bedramatically faster transfers of images from the camera via USB. Several users that have upgraded have commented that it appears to be USB 2.0 speed (even though the camera was marketed as being USB 1.1).
