Hello,
I'm in the market for a new digital camera, i'm a total noob when it comes to photography but i want to learn a little (as a hobby). I'll mainly be shooting at partys and discos, animals outdoor and indoor, people and cars (on the racetrack using zoom). As many people i really want a dslr but i can't justify the cost so i want a dslr-alike camera that also can be a p&s when others use it. I was looking at the finepix s series at first, but then i found 2nd hand dimage 7's in the same price range as the finepix s5100/5500 new. So now my question to you guys, how does the dimage 7 compare to the new cams? |

One point to consider is that the Dimage 7 was the first of the D7 series, but the only one to have a weak IR filter. If you are interested in IR photography, this is a great advantage.
