I've been on the look out for an external flash for my A200and when used 5600HS(D) showed up for $200, I jumped on the deal. The flash manual indicates thatthere is a built in AF assistlamp, which should engage in low light situations. Asit was discussed in many forums,A200is great camera with only one drawback - focusing in dim light. So, I was certainly looking forward to improving AF situation. However, the lamp on the flash does not engage. I am suspecting that logic to turn on AF assist lamp is usually built into a camera, not in a flash. Since A200 does not have a built in light, it would not support turning on anexternal light either.Am IentirelySOL with the flash AF lamp?

The A200 (more generally the Ax series), as the manual say, does not support AF assist lamp.
