My first post was in jest. The bottom line differences between the 7i and the 7Hi are these: 7Hi has more onboard RAM (buffer), a jpeg option with less compression, a sync flash, an improved color space, a few more menu options and of course the black color. I have tried both cameras and quite frankly (for me) there is no way I can justify the price difference between the 7i and the 7Hi. I'd lay dollars to donuts that the 7i is soon to be retired as the price has come down quite remarkably since I have been shopping (2 months). The big camera show in Vegas is just 2 weeks away, Minolta just might ax the 7i from the line up and bring out something bigger and better, making the 7Hi second from the top of the line. I think I'll wait until after the show before I purchase.
Maybe the 7 Hi will come down to the $650 range (like the 7i is now).......if not........it's the 7i for me ![]() |
