I am looking for my first digital camera and am impressed with what I have read about the A1. My only concern is the technology is changing so fast and improving by leaps and bounds is that this camera is almost a year old and there are a lot of other newer 5 mp models out, but none have the other features I like about the A1. I know there is an A2, this is just a little too much.

Thank you,

Go for it - it has a lot going for it that you will like. However, it is NOT a point and shoot camera. Be prepared to do some post processing to get the best image (which will be good).

If you want a good point and shoot one with advanced features, look at the Fuji F7000. Apart from some background noise (which probably won't show up on prints anyway) I think it is the best of the rest.
