Has the focus problem gone away? I'd buy an A2 if it has.

I think most of the "problems" are caused by incorrect use - like using the "intelligent" focus when not appropriate, etc.SOme people have complained about a problem where the camera got into a mode where it wouldn't focus, without rebooting, but say that this problem was cured with the 1.10 firmware. I don't know, because I have the earlier firmware and I haven't noticed a problem yet.The focusing seems very fast and accurate. It's an excellent camera.

Most have been cured by the 1.12 firmware release. I still have issues with it sometimes wanting to focus very close when I want it to focus a log way away. But the use of DMF cures that one too. I just check it, if its wrong, back off and try again - it sorts itself out.

So, basically, yes, the problems do not occur.

One thing - I have been scanning in (using a negative scanner for quality) old films and its suprising how many are slightly out of focus. So, this is not a new problem.
