I was just out taking a few reference pics when the A2 froze.
It was set to Auto/Fine. Could not shut it down. Finally removed the battery, waited a couple of minutes, put it back in and all seems well. Comments? Richard |

It happens, I had the same problem, all computer based things do it from time to time - you did the right thing - taking the battery out. All should then be well. If it does it often, you may have a more serious problem - perhaps faulty memory card.

oseney,
Thx for the reply. I assumed it was a 'hiccup', just wondering if others had similar experiences. R. |

I just read your remarks about your A2 freezing. i have a Minolta Dimage 7i.
I have had it for over 2 years and shot over 10k pictures. It does the same thing and all I do is release the catch on the batt cover...just enough to break contact with the batteries, and shut the lid and re fasten the catch. It resets and works fine. It only does it once in a while and there was a note at the end of Steve's review of the 7i noting that some power switches were faulty and to contact Minolta. I did that and rather than send the camera away for who knows how long, I decided to put up with the minor inconvenience. Has not done it very often, but is just as you describe. |
