Just recently, my quick view stopped working. When I push the button, the screen goes blank and the card access LED comes on , then the screen comes back on in record mode. If I switch to playback mode using the switch, it plays back normally. It's just quick view that doesn't work. I have the latest firmware (1.14) and have reloaded it. I have also set the camera to defaults.
Has anyone experienced this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

You are trying QuickView -after- taking a picture right? If I remembercorrectly it does not function if you haven't taken a picture since turning the camera on. I could be wrong, it has been a while since I used an A2.

Yes, immediately after taking a shot. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't/

It may be that the camera hasn't finished writing to the card when you press button for quickview. Try waiting just a bit longer, until the LED is out. I'm not that familiar with the A2, but with the D7 series, and, I think, the A1, the LED access light should not be on for quick view.

That's not it. I'm sure that it's thru writing.

The QuickView function is available whether or not a shot has been taken after starting the camera. The only time it won't is if there are no images on the card at all.
It is also a feature that QuickView can be used, even though the image is still being written to the card. It seems as though you may have an iffy QV button/contact. It's a very long shot, but try formatting the card in camera and try again. I don't know the intricacies of how or what precisely is written to the card or what information is on it when formatted, but something may be missing in the communication dept. between the camera's QV and what is on the card. Won't hurt to try ![]() |
