Hi Steve!
I'd like to thank you for the encouragement to keep up with the "focusing practice"... probably it's also a matter of habit... we will see! About my pictures thanks for the appreciation but it's quite easy to take good shots in Rome... :-) Here below my first attempt to use a macro mode... |

There are some really great shots on this thread. This doesn't quite match up but it's the best I could do today.
A field near Bodelwyddan, North Wales. |

Hi all!
Here are a few more shots taken in Tucson a couple of weeks ago. The animals were at the Reid Park Zoo and the flower was a prickly pear cactus we saw along the way. BTW, I also got some great video of the giraffe and the swan. I love being able to switch back and forth between still and video. So far I haven't experienced any of the video problems that others have mentioned elsewhere! Barb |

Thanks for your comments Cliff, Paolo and Barb. As I've said I think we are all putting up a reasonably good show and it's fun as well. I liked your reflected swan, Barb - and Rome must be a wonderful place for photography, Paolo.
I'll try again with this yellow field but it's giving me problems on the LCD monitor and I may have to re-edit. Results depend too much on monitor angle. There's a motorway behind the field and I spent nearly an hour waiting for a red lorry to be followed by a yellow lorry - like the tongue-twister 'Red lorry, yellow lorry' of my childhood. I didn't get a proper yellow one. |

I'm well impressed with the plethora of shots that this section has attracted.
Not wishing to criticise this excellent shot, I used Adobe Photoshop to deepen the colours using the histogram at the bottom end and added some sharpness with UnSharpMask. |
