My 7i goes very quickly from a full charge down to 1/4. Takes about 10-20 pictures.
turning the camera off and immediatly on again restores the battery full indicator. then I have another bunch of pics until it goes to 1/4. I do get 150+ pics out of a charge. what is going on? I am using the sanyo 1850 that came with the camera... waiting for my new charger to arrive... |

It could be one of the cell is faulty, or the charger... Have you try with a different set of batteries?
With one bad cell, the remaining three would register a lower voltage on the camera while having enough capacity to power the camera. Turning the camera off and on just take the load off the faulty cell enabling it to 'recuperate' shortly... showing a full charge until its voltage drops again under load! That's why I recommend the Rayovac 1-hr quick charger, it's the FASTest and has 4 independent circuits with each it's own monitor/flashing LED to indicate any faulty cell... Most others charge the cells in pairs and would mask this condition unless you interchange the batteries or happen to match two bad cells together! ![]() http://www.rayovac.com/products/recharge/chargers.shtml |
