Default Dimage A1 EVF life

here is what I read in a UK forum (http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPR-Minolt...226935940~ZD-1)
"Full Review
The camera’s electronic viewfinder goes out after about 3,000 photos. Can not get Minolta to repair, they just sent it back with nothing done to the camera.
This happened with two A1's both going down at about 3,000 photos. Because I had two cameras exhibit the same problem in about the same amount of time, probably all A1's will have the same problem. The problem most will not shoot the number of photos I do, and yours will go out after the warranty expires. "

could this be true??

I need to take about another 1000 photos - then I'll let you know
Seriously - I haven't heard of this problem before. I'm not suprised that Minolta would return the camera back to the customer without having had fixed the issue. A couple of us have had to do multiple returns to get them to fix a problem.
