Default Dimage S404

I own a Dimage s404 as the first digicam. The pictures taken was quite well with very good color quality. My problems are as followed:
1- The pictures are not sharp as I expected and I often have to sharpen pictures with PS ( I thought that digital pics must be very sharp).
2- I want to print my pics. Do i have to run these pics through the DIVU to convert to sRGB color space before printing ?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Are you having problems with your autofocus? I've never had to sharpen an image either for onscreen viewing or por printing at 8x10".

Most printers are set up to use sRGB- depending on the make and model though, some might support the Minolta colorspace (you might have to ask in a pritning forum- I don't even own a printer). I send mine off to be professionally printed- only in rare cases (where there are bright reds, greens and blues) is it necessary to sRGB them before sending them.
