Default Dimage xt disappointment

I bought a dimage xt to replace the optioS that i dropped and am regretting the choice. Firstly, the camera is taken with me on mountainbiking trips in the Uk and in cold weather (less than 5degC), the batteries don't have enough power to operate the camera. The camera also seems to require a lot of power when taking videos and you are soon left with a camera that can only take stills. The focusing in dark conditions is also very poor. I have taken good shots with this camera but I wouldn't recommend it as an ultra compact. Get an OptioS4! :x

I would recommend the Dimage XG over the XT. It is MUCH better on battery life, getting up to twice the playback time.

It has been mentioned that all li-ion rechargeables are severely affected by very cold conditions. The recommendation is to try to keep the battery/camera warm. If the OptioS uses li-ion, it would also be affected.

Hey IpaqMan!

you should check this cam out!

Have a look @ the Specs

I recon its seriously close between the Xg & this OptioS4!

But i agree with IpaqMan the Xg is a serious inprovment over the Xt. Its also way cheaper, if u can id take the Xt back & see if u can get a Xg. Save yourself som money & get a better cam @ the same time!

Thanx for the heads up on the OptioS4 Teester!
