Every now and then, my Dimage Z2 will pause during the shut down process after retracting the lens, it then shows a rotating hourglass and you can hear shutter type noises. Any idea what it is? I cant reproduce the results all the time, the camera only does it every few weeks or so.

So does mine, exactly the same. But I mainly noticed this turning off the camera after downloading images to the computer.
Not every time, sure. Perhaps once per two weeks or so. I was not too much scared about this. See you. |

That happened once on my Z10 but there was noassociated noise. I believe I was downloading files shortly before turning it off.

The instruction manual in the A200 says that this happens occasionally when the camera is turned off. This is because the CCD is being calibrated. I suppose the same thing happens on the Z2.

My Z1 has done that a couple of times, too. (I don't download via the camera-- I use a card reader.)
