My camera seems to be frozen. I can take a picture, but then it won't let me view any pictures on my disc or anything else. The red light on the access lamp is on continuously. I can't even turn the camera off. I have to open the battery area. Any advice or suggestions as to what may be the problem? Thanks.

if you have no important photos on the memory card you could try formating it as soon as you turn the Z3 on to see if that helps

Make sure you've upgraded your firmware to version 1.02 if it didn't ship that way. Camera lockup was a common problem with earlier firmware versions. Here is the link to download the newest firmware:


You could also have a bad Secure Digital Card causing problems. I'd try a different one if you have one. Also, make sure your batteries are good. Using high capacity NiMH batteries is a good idea. See this article for more on batteries:

Well, this may well seem to simple... BUT that was happening to me and I discovered that I had the mode set on Motion Picture................ check it
