Hello,
I bought a X20 three weeks ago. I think it is a very good 2M camera. Concerning movie, its unlimited XR mode is great but the quality it is not so good compared to other models. During playback, vertical lines are always very flickering. Changes on parameters did not help. Has someone the same experience ? Cheers, Fab |

Hi Fab,
Under what conditions are you 'filming' ? Low light? When you pan slowly, does it still happen? I haven't noticed this on my X20, but alittle on a 40i, under low light. Does it happen when in photo mode? (ie lcd problem) jenk. |

Hi,
I have an X20 too but I don't have this porblem... as Jenk wrote, I see vertical lines (but fixed, not flickering) when I point to a strong light with a dark background... but this is an optical limit of nearly every digital camcorder!!! So... just avoid such light conditions or use the effect to create something special... ciao! |

Hello,
I apologize for my latency, it was not possible reply before. First of all I thank Jenk and Lambonet for their help. I tried many different situations. It seems to be independent from light intensity and camera's settings. > When you pan slowly, does it still happen? yes > I haven't noticed this on my X20, but alittle on a 40i, under low > light. > Does it happen when in photo mode? (ie lcd problem) It's not a lcd problem. I saw this on different screens (portable and desktop pc, TV, camera lcd). The result it is the same. From your answer I understood that in your camera you don't see (have) the same problem. To clarify I found a X20's review with a video sample which shows what I mean about vertical lines' flickering. Please, see http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/mi...w/PICT0026.MOV and watch the vertical flags' sticks. Cheers, Fab |
