After reading Steve's review and viewing a few pictures I wouldn't buy it! He was being kind to KM when he said the image quality was "average" for this class of camera. I thought the pictures I viewed were poor and all or mostly soft. Comapred to a Nikon or Panasonic it seems poor quality to me. LOL. Just my 2 cents worth of opinion.

I had this camera for a few months and can only say: Save your money! Very poor image quality, problems with sharpness and noise. I have upgraded now to DIMAGE A200 and I'm happy with it.:|

I just bought one. I have it for only 2 weeks so far. I have to learn how to use it somewhat. It's more complicated than my old Kodak DC260. But I've benn getting great pictures when I get the settings right. I've been playing around lately trying to take pictures of my fishtanks. They're a little tricky. But I've had good results. I saw some comments about the pictures not being sharp. My pictures are plenty sharp.

I purchased the Z5 about 2 months ago and in all honesty it's a lot better then the reviews. In full Auto mode I agree the photo's are a little soft, however in Program Mode, just turn the sharpness up to High and you'll see a world of a difference. In fulll Auto Mode the camera actually captures exactly what the eye is seeing as far as color. Many camera's out there such as Nikon and Canon have software imbedding in the camera that tweaks the colors and makes them more vibrant and rich. If you like that, then in Program mode just boost up the color to Vivid and you're good to go.
I would highly reccomend this camera. For the price and the feel of it, it take magnificent pictures. Good Luck! Vern |
