how does F100 image quality compare with other cameras?
 
other 4 megapixels that is..
i am looking for the best 4 mega camera

I assume you are only interested in small or you wouldn't be looking at the F 100. Most units as small or smaller use propriatary lion batteries. Everybody says get AA NIMN and you will save yourself lots of grief. Olympus D40 competes. D40 better night shots, F100 better active focus system. All 4's have great pictures. Memory costs more for F100. I chose F100 and like it.

The more technical reviews on the web point to the CCD/lens combination on the F100 resolving an excellent level of 4MP detail. They also point to the low levels of corner softness and coma.

Having owned the F100 for a month, I would also say its macro ability is right up there with the best of them.
